MAURICE HARMON

Maurice Harmon graduated cum laude from the University of Detroit Law School in 1978, where he was a member of the law review. Following employment in the District Attorney’s Office in Grand Junction, Colorado, he started his own firm and engaged in a civil and criminal trial practice for eight years. During that time he tried over 70 jury trials.

 

In 1988 he moved to New York City to pursue a full-time professional photography career. Between then and 2003 he shot magazine assignments for Sports Illustrated, Golf & Travel, Links, Caribbean Travel & Life, Holiday, Golfweek and others. During that time he photographed commercial jobs for Rolex, Ernst & Young, Automatic Data Processing, Ashland Inc., Penguin Books, Kmart and various advertising agencies including J. Walter Thompson. His stock photography is licensed by Graphistock.

 

In 2003, Maurice Harmon resumed the practice of law exclusively focusing on copyright infringement litigation. He maintains an office in eastern Pennsylvania and has been admitted to practice in U.S. courts around the country including New York City, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Philadelphia, Phoenix and Chattanooga, and is a member of the bar of Colorado.

CHRIS SEIDMAN

Chris has in-depth experience in all aspects of copyright law, including licensing, infringement and damages analysis, litigation and arbitration. After graduating in 1976 from Harvard Law School, Chris was appointed Assistant District Attorney for the 7th Judicial District of Colorado. He prosecuted criminal cases from shoplifting to murder, acquiring extensive courtroom experience that has served him well in dealing with the copyright infringers he now pursues.  Following his service in the D.A.'s office, Chris founded a law firm concentrating on Workers' Compensation cases and was repeatedly recognized by Super Lawyers magazine for his professional achievements.

 

In 2006, Chris and Maurice Harmon created Harmon & Seidman LLC to provide legal representation to photographers, artists and writers whose copyrights have been infringed.  Chris applies his 30 years of litigation experience, including over 30 jury trials and countless trials to the court, to bring the infringers to justice. He is an active member of the state bars of California, New York and Colorado, and appears in various federal district courts across the country.

 

 

 

AMANDA L. BRUSS

Amanda graduated suma cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in fine art from the University of Florida in 2002.  After working as a scenic artist for a year, she attended UC Hastings College of the Law, where she served as student government internal vice president, executive editor of the International and Comparative Law Review, and president of her class.  Amanda earned her JD in 2006 and worked as a general civil litigation associate for small boutique firms in San Francisco for five years prior to joining Harmon & Seidman LLC in 2011.  She is licensed to practice in California and Colorado.
